The conversational course “Jumpstart“ is designed for living and adapting in a German-speaking environment.

Who absolutely needs to take our “Jumpstart” course?

If you've found that, despite your current level (A1, A2, B1, B2), you struggle to communicate in everyday life.
If you lack the necessary words, expressions, practice, and conversational skills.
If you've passed exams at levels A1, A2, B1, or B2 but still can't speak German, feeling shy and fearful of real interactions with native speakers.

The course covers all the essential topics for basic communication in daily life in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and other German-speaking regions.

The “Jumpstart“ course has 2 participation levels: 1.0 and 2.0.

Jumpstart

We thoroughly discuss practical life topics such as personal information, phone conversations, requests and gratitude, shopping, food, getting around the city, traveling by public transport and buying tickets, visiting the doctor, pharmacy, weather, leisure time, letters, messaging apps, and other everyday topics.

Course Program

We will focus on detailed training of everyday conversational clichés, Small Talk with native German speakers, communication with colleagues, shopping and talking to salespeople, extended dialogues at the reception in a clinic and with a doctor, phone negotiations and letters, and we will study the peculiarities of spoken language (interjections). You will learn both formal and informal letter writing, messaging in apps, and you will also create your resume in German and prepare for an interview with a German-speaking employer.

You listen to podcasts, pause to repeat, and practice speaking this way

You memorize with your feet.

You use a technique actors rely on to memorize scripts: you walk to a designated spot to listen to and rehearse the material aloud.

After each lesson, you complete tasks – we conduct special role-playing games that simulate real-life situations with native speakers

You improve your speech

The course includes special pronunciation lessons that help you “start speaking,” better understand native speakers, and feel more confident during conversations.

After the podcasts and role-playing exercises, you practice spontaneous communication skills in real-time with the instructor

Effortlessly, you will start noticing phrases from the course everywhere and using them in real conversations with German speakers.

The course is based on the principle of spaced repetition.

All main lessons of the course are available on the Getcourse online platform and consist of podcasts with visual materials. We use pre-recorded podcasts so that you can listen and repeat after the narrator (all podcasts are voiced by the founder of the school – Olga Kuntsevich) as many times as needed, in various locations.

The course is designed to help you start speaking and overcome psychological and linguistic barriers (often referred to as a language barrier by learners).

Thus, we create the necessary number of repetitions of the same material specifically for you. Some of you may need to repeat it 5 times, while others may need 10, 15, 20, and so on. We are all different, and that’s okay.

On the plans Active (mini-groups) and Individual, the course program includes communicative exercises that are carried out in a closed group on Telegram using voice messages. Participants work on speaking skills, receive feedback on mistakes, and the instructors answer any questions that arise.

To practice spontaneous communication, video calls with the instructor are organized in real-time (on the Active and Individual plans).
